Project Manager

The Native Village of Eyak makes sizable investments in the planning, designing, and constructing multi-million-dollar construction projects. Prudent management of funds dictates that qualified individuals be used by Tribes and Tribal organizations to manage funded projects. This requirement benefits the Tribe and the Tribal government. The Project Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing various construction projects’ building or renovation processes from start to finish ensuring that schedules and budgets are followed. The Project Manager is responsible for creating project budgets and retrieving necessary permits, planning, organizing, and overseeing the construction process.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture from an accredited college or university or an Associate of Arts Degree in Construction or Building Technology or related fields.
  • Seven (7) or more years of employment with an Architect or Engineering firm where the primary duties of employment included the management of the planning, design, and construction of buildings or,

  • Seven (7) or more years of employment with a construction company or construction management firm, which included management of building construction projects with an A-E firm and construction contractor or,

  • Seven (7) or more years of employment with a public agency (Tribal, Federal, State, or local) where the primary duties of employment included management of projects for the planning, design and construction of buildings or,

  • Any combination of 1 through 3 totaling seven (7) or more years.

Tribal Paralegal

The Paralegal will provide professional legal support to the NVE Administration. This position is expected to assist in creating and maintaining the Tribe’s general and department-specific policies, contract files, legislative drafting, correspondence, and litigation files. 

Education and Experience:

An A.A. degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field is required; a bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or a related field is preferred. A paralegal certificate is required.

Demonstrated ability and experience in managing complex records/files, including litigation files and/or government records.  At least 1 year of working experience working with a Tribal Government, but two years is preferred.

On-Call Small Landing Craft Operator

SHEPARD POINT

This On-Call, Temporary position operates NVE vehicles such as autos, boats, and ATVs according to NVE safety guidelines.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

General boating and outboard knowledge and experience.  Experience with 4WD and ATV trail running. Experience in operating small boats, heavy equipment, ATVs, and power tools required. Experience working in remote areas and in outdoor conditions is preferred.  Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a current Alaska Driver’s license. Will be subject to drug and alcohol screening as per NVE policies.

Behavioral Health Clinician​

ILANKA COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER

This part-time or full-time position is part of the Behavioral Health Team and works to provide compassionate, client-centered, and evidence-based care.   

Education and Experience:

Master of Science/Arts in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or any acceptable related field, from an accredited organization, is required.  School Diploma or equivalent required.  

Holds a current license as a Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, or similar license, or be working towards gaining licensure within 3 years.  

Medical Assistant

ILANKA COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER

The ICHC Medical Assistant is responsible for working under the direction of ICHC providers and in alignment with 12 AAC 40.920 to provide exceptional patient care.   This position performs a variety of tasks within established policies and procedures and in accordance with approved privileging.  Depending on the shift assigned, may work Saturdays or overtime as needed.  Must be able to pass a background check to include fingerprinting.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent. 

Preferred 1-year experience as a CMA, MA, or CNA in a clinical setting. 

Current Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR Pro certification, or the ability to become certified within 2 months of hire.

ILANKA COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER

Sonographer​

The diagnostic medical sonographer balances patient interaction and technological performance with a firm knowledge of anatomy and pathology while working cohesively with Ilanka’s healthcare team.

This position establishes methods and procedures for attaining specific goals and objectives and receives guidance in terms of broad goals. Only the final results of work are typically reviewed.

This is a Part-Time, Flexible position.

Education and Experience:

Must have a minimum 2 years’ experience in medical diagnostic sonography including cardiac.

Must hold a minimum of an Associate’s degree in medical diagnostic sonography from a school accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and be registered with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

ILANKA COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER

Nursing Supervisor

This position oversees the nursing staff at Ilanka Community Health Center (ICHC), a Tribally owned Federally Qualified Health Center and Patient Centered Medical Home.  Duties include but are not limited to supervising nursing staff, providing clinical services, participating in QI/QA, Risk Management as well as providing exceptional leadership and team building, initiative an and problem solving skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in healthcare related field preferred.
  • Minimum five years supervisory experience in a clinical setting.
  • Experience with healthcare information systems, such as electronic health record.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current Alaska Registered Nurse license
  • BLS or CPR Pro Certification required, ACLS and PALS recommended.
  • Current Alaska Drivers License recommended

Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) Coordinator

The Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) Coordinator supports Indian child health and well-being through the implementation of coordinated programs designed to further cultural identity, personal self-esteem, and hope for the future. This person intervenes in State custody and termination of parental rights according to established ICWA law. This position assists Tribal members socially and financially, navigating through Tribal, State, and Federal programs.

Executive Director

The Native Village of Eyak’s Executive Director provides effective oversight and management of all NVE programs in accordance with the NVE Mission and strategic plans as developed by the Tribal Council. This position is responsible for the management of NVE including responsibility for policy development, program planning, fiscal management, administration, quality improvement, daily operation, and communication regarding all NVE functions, programs, and activities. Supervisory responsibilities are overseeing Deputy Director and Program Managers.

 

Education and Experience:

A bachelor’s degree in business/management, and master’s degree in business or public

administration or equivalent preferred. Minimum five years’ experience in Tribal Government Management. Master’s degree may be substituted for 3 years’ experience. Minimum of 2 years’ experience with contract negotiations. Experience with and understanding of Tribal Self-Governance, 638 compacting & indirect rate negotiations is required.

Finance Director

The Native Village of Eyak’s Finance Director is responsible for the financial management of all aspects of the Native Village of Eyak’s operations. This position exercises wide latitude in determining objectives and approaches to critical assignments. This includes but not limited to supervising, recruiting, and developing accounting department staff. Ability to set reporting and work schedules, and work to meet external and internal deadlines. Proficient in accounting and applied math skills. Attention to detail and ability to be accurate is necessary. Must be honest and have professional integrity, must be able to communicate difficult information comfortably and accurately to coworkers, Executive Director, and the Tribal Council. Excellent computer and technical skills. Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and in writing. Ability to work in a team setting and to develop and train staff.

 

Education and Experience:

A bachelor’s degree in accounting and Certified Public Accountant preferred.

Three years’ experience in supervisory role in regulatory reporting for Federal Contracts,

or two years’ experience in supervisory role in tax accounting in public accounting. Two years’ experience with contract negotiations.
